The Slate is the brainchild of Meebox, a Mexican Company, and a new competitor for Apple’s iPad and other tablet devices.

This tablet sets itself apart by showing off its processing capacity as being more powerful than the iPad while including multitasking ability and compatibility with Flash.  The tablet runs off of the Windows 7 platform unlike its competitors which have utilized Android or developed their own platform.

Carlos Koch de Santiago, no stranger to the electronics industry, is the Mexican entrepreneur behind the Slate. Currently there are Meebox offices in Mexico and Dallas, Texas.

From The, “During its presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the innovative Mexican product received ninety purchase orders in the first eight hours after its release, which portends a major success.”

The Slate is already competing head on with some of the world’s recognized innovators in the tablet market. Keep an eye on some of Mexico’s newest entrepreneurs. Does the Slate have a chance against the market’s well-established competitors?
